Martin Nytra tested (not only) his running limits in Madeira
26. 03. 2019
Madeira is a dreamy place, but not always!
As soon as I arrived on the island, I was struck down with a high fever and chills. It was so strong that I was not even able to walk 5 km in one go (it took me over 2 hours and I am not counting the breaks).
I dropped out in the evening. I didn’t even have the strength to cover myself with a blanket. I spent the whole second day sweating in my bed, dosing myself with all the medicines I could get. I didn’t want to admit it to myself that I would have to lie in bed for my whole stay in Madeira.
I was still coughing horribly on the third day, but I fought against it. Finally, I managed both the illness and myself and set out for a run. I could have compared my pace to a lazy slacker, but the views were definitely worth it. No doubt about that.
