For 3 years, my Christmas day has been connected with early rising and traveling to Kralupy nad Vltavou, where I and my friends taste cookies in the morning, someone gets punch and still before daylight, we are leaving the square.
A quick breakfast, a transfer, and six runners set out at an unhurried pace in Veltrusy. In the dark, we blinked and jingled depending on each of us put on as a compulsory masquerade :) We made a schedule to be back in the square after 2 hours. Every year, more of us take part in the shorter part of the race. I was surprised that TV from Mělník arrived to launch a probe on us. After 19 km it was a pleasant time-out with many cookies, necessary photo shoot and then in the crowd, we were running 12 km to Nativity scene in Řež.
Finally, after the 3 years, we arrived in time so we could talk to runners and cyclists, with whom we always passed. Again the cookies, a few photos, and then the journey along the other bank back to Kralupy.
It was nice to talk a little with my friends who I rarely see, with the boys who ran 10 km and for a Christmas day with us 24 km, and with the experienced stagers from the mountains :) Our joy even increased that the whole event has won over 5,000 for the Prague wheelchair sport club.
