BESKIDS SEVEN (B7) IN WINTER PERIOD
23. 11. 2017
Yes we are runners and we are addicted!
So when the idea of a multi-day running over the Beskids Seven (B7) was born in the winter, there was nothing to think about. Pack up, arrange for accommodation, upload maps into our watches and we can hit the road!
On Thursday evening, our bunch of 5 addicts set out to Ostrava and we spent the night there.
On Friday morning, we moved to Frýdek-Místek by car and from there we took a bus to an imaginary starting line in Třinec. At half past eight in the morning we set out towards our first day on the B7.
We reached one peak after another. Even though nature has created challenging conditions in the form of snow and dense fog. We continued with a smile on our face. At the top of Lysá hora we took a moment to refresh and take on new forces. In front of us was the last peak of Smrk, the second highest mountain of Moravian-Silesian Beskids after Lysá hora and then quickly to bed.
On Smrk we went out in the darkness, dense fog complicated our orientation, so we got a little out of pace. We were looking forward to going into the valley especially to the soft bed and shower.
Čeladná is a nice village in the very heart of the Beskids. At last we got it over with! We ran 72 km and climbed 4.000 meters. We set alarm clocks for the next day and went to sleep.
The next day the sun rays woke us up. No one wanted to believe that today we will run all day in the mist without a clear view. A great breakfast and we went for the rest of our adventure.
At the end of the track we had easy 37 km so there was no reason to hurry. Quite the contrary, we wanted to enjoy the day as much as possible. The weather turned out well and we could see the beauties of the Beskids.
We ran to Frenštát pod Radhoštěm in the darkness, but we were very happy and satisfied.
We did it in health and as a bunch!
Then we had something to eat and celebrated the B7 running in winter weather (110 km; 6,000 m of climb).
